Thai University hosts international tourism conference
The Faculty of Management Sciences at Khon Kaen University (KKU) in the Northeast is currently busy with its preparations for the 62nd international conference of Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism (AIEST) which will be taken place on Aug.26 – 30 at the Pullman Raja Orchid Hotel, Khon Kaen.

The conference is being held to boost hotel and tourism related businesses as well as to share industry knowledge among researchers, institutes and international organizations from both the public and private sectors.
AIEST is an old association with more than 300 members which includes academics, scholars, specialists and institutions who are involved in international tourism.
Each year, AIEST holds international academic conferences to present their research studies and academic works.
Assoc. Prof. Manthana Samart, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, said her faculty has been selected to be as the host and organizer of this year’s conference and that the event is a great opportunity for KKU to present its own research and study results at an international level.
Moreover, she noted that her faculty wants to assist the Thai tourism sector take its place as a world class industry leader.
AIEST member Dr. Mario Barblan added that Bangkok city, Thailand has been voted as the best tourism city by the US “Travel + Leisure” magazine for the past three consecutive years (2010, 2011, and 2012). With the conference being held in Khon Kaen, it will be a great opportunity to show off the region’s outstanding culture, friendly people, fascinating arts and cultures which are supported by five star hotels.
